About Me

Hey! I’m Abhishek Ranjan, a software engineer living the tech dream at Google. Since graduating from NSIT in 2020 with a degree in computer science, I've been on a mission to automate just about everything, self-host all the things, and experiment with the latest tech—all while trying to make my code (mostly) bug-free.

During the day, I’m part of Google’s team of engineers working to organize the world’s information. But once I log off, it’s straight to my home lab, where the real magic happens! My server hosts an ever-growing collection of Docker containers, virtual machines, and services like Jellyfin, pfSense, and Immich, all safeguarded behind my trusty pfSense firewall.

Kotlin, Ansible, Hardhat… my tech stack may vary, but the goal remains the same: create, automate, and sometimes accidentally break things along the way. On this blog, you’ll find my tech musings, DIY disasters, and a few lessons learned about building, breaking, and fine-tuning a home lab setup.

Join me as I push my server (and sanity) to its limits—who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired to dive into the world of self-hosting, too!
